There are over 100 fresh oysters from the Delaware Bay picked a couple days before by the East Point Oyster Company, hand delivered and added to the boil. Then we add a twist of Cherry wood Smoked Malt to give a smokey bacon nose and taste to the beer. The guest collaborator was George Hummel. George is a respected name in these parts. His grandfather was the brew master at the original Philadelphia Brewing Company. The first kegs will be tapped at the 75th annual Oyster Eat here in Georgetown, which is a fundraiser for the local firehouse (which we help host). Then March 1st the kegs will be offered up for sale with our distributor partners.
