Brett McCrea

Brett McCrea

The Land that the brewery is on  has been in my family since the early 1980's (read 1981ish). It was a pig farm, chicken farm, and cattle land.

Brett is the owner of 16 Mile. He wanted to bring a small business back to his hometown after spending the better part of 10 years working in Washington, DC. He enjoys the creativity behind crafting the beers we make and innovation behind bringing stories to life.

This Sussex County native can be found behind our tavern bar every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If you like the live music you hear on Friday and Saturday nights, you can thank Heather. Not only does she serve 16 Mile beer at our tavern, she also books all of the musical acts that play there.

Matt Matrona

Matt Matrona is from Ocean City, Maryland. He became passionate about brewing after his first home brews:a Double IPA and a vanilla citrus hefeweizen. Matt has gained brewing industry experience from other breweries on the Eastern Shore. He hopes to brew and create 16 Mile beers for a long time. He loves seeing others enjoy his beer. In his spare time, he likes to ride his motorcycle and spend time with his rescue puppy, Mya.

Born and raised in Allentown, Pa. I have been a Delaware native now for over 12 yrs. I have had the unique opportunity to work all 3 tiers of our great industry over the last decade and continue to now slang our great brews as Sales Manager for 16 Mile Brewing Co. throughout the state of Delaware and Maryland. I love spending time with my family and driving onto the beach and really anything outdoors! Home brewer and craft beer advocate.. I was born for this! Cheers!

I'm Josh or Swifty. I'm a beer loving, beach guy and current electric triangle player for Benny and the Beerets. All kidding aside, I enjoy working out and playing rugby. My favorite thing I like about brewing is being creative and making all different kinds of beer. I like my beer how I like my women, curvy and blonde!

After 18 years of service in the Air Force, I have decided to become a commercial brewer. I have spent a few years homebrewing and finally landed my dream job! Originally from Maryland, but have taken residence in Delaware. Have volunteered and spent a lot of time at many other breweries in the area. I spend my off time as a husband to my beautiful wife and father of 4 children. I'm diehard for Baltimore sports teams. Go O's and Ravens! I think Delaware produces the greatest beer in the world...Yes, I really do!
